Experience & specialisms:
John trained and qualified with the firm. After qualifying he worked for Price Waterhouse in London for a period before returning to the firm as partner. Specialisms include Medical Practices and Business Valuations.

Outside work:
John is a former member of Council of the I.C.A.E.W. and former President of the Association of Accounting Technicians. He is currently serving on the United Nations Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants President's Appointment Panel for Arbitrators and Expert Determinations.

Paul Howkins

Graham Saunders

MA(Cantab).

Experience and specialisms:
Head of audit and assurance, specialist in housing associations and construction industry.

Outside work:
Board member of a housing association and a charity.

Charles Little

Position: Director (Bedford Office)

Qualifications:
FCA - Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales

Experience & specialisms:
Trained with Coopers & Lybrand. Joined the firm in 1977 to open the Bedford Office for which he is now responsible. Charles is a specialist advisor to the Bloodstock and Horse Racing industries.

The office has a significant number of UK industrial clients who represent overseas companies from Finland, Holland, German, Spain and South Africa.

Outside work:
Deputy Chairman of the South East Midlands Branch of the Institute of Directors. Treasurer of St Pauls Church Bedford.

Wayne Kingston

Position: Director (Biggleswade Office)

Experience & specialisms:
Trained and qualified with the firm. Became a partner in 1986 and is responsible for the Biggleswade office. Specialisms include Tax and I.T.

Paul Southward

Position: Tax Director

Experience and specialisms:
Trained and qualified with KPMG before joining the firm.

More than 20 years experience covering all aspects of taxation for businesses and individuals.

Specialising in tax planning to minimise Corporation tax, Income tax, Capital gains tax and Inheritance tax.

Other experience covers all aspects of tax compliance including Inland Revenue enquiries.

Outside work:
Regular columnist for Business Monthly published in association with the Luton News, the Dunstable Gazette and the Biggleswade Chronicle. A member of the Board of the Luton and Dunstable Innovation Centre.

Jeremy Tyrrell

Position: Director of Corporate Services

Qualifications:
ACA – Associate of the Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
BA (Hons) – Accounting and Economics (Reading)

Experience and specialisms:
Jeremy qualified in 1996 and joined the firm in 2007 having previously led the Corporate Finance department at the Windsor office of Tenon plc, a top ten accountancy practice. His role involves leading the transaction based work of the firm including business acquisitions, disposals, sourcing finance, business planning, company valuations and other strategic assignments.

Outside work:
Jeremy is the Chairman of the Playing committee for the East Midlands RFU and heavily involved in Bedford Athletic RUFC. He is also a parish councillor (Eastcotts Parish Council) and a member of the PCC at St. Mary’s Church, Cardington.

Neil Warren

Position: VAT Consultant

Qualifications:
ATT - Member of the Association of Taxation Technicians
FMAAT – Fellow Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians

Experience & specialisms:
Specialisms include land and property issues, partial exemption and international services.

Neil is a regular contributor to 'Taxation' and 'CCH VAT News' on topical VAT issues. He is a VAT lecturer and author of the Tolley’s VAT Planning book that is published each year. He was a finalist (with three others) in the LexisNexis Tax Writer of the Year competition in 2007.

He is also a member of the Technical Committee of the Association of Taxation Technicians, specialising in matters involving VAT.

Peter Vickers

Peter joined the firm in 1964 when the Biggleswade branch was still J W Austin & Co. The two firms merged in 1978 and Peter has stayed with us for nearly 40 years, to become one of our most experienced and respected accountants.

Peter's specialisms include farming, Lloyds Underwriters and Capital GainsTax.

Peter is a local councillor and is deputy Mayor of Biggleswade for 2003/4.

Brian Hills

Brian was also with J W Austin & Co from 1966 and similarly has a great deal of experience of all forms of accountancy work.

Brian's specialisms include farming, the construction industry, small business accounts and tax.
